Happy Valentines.

 To many people, Valentines Day is cliché and just another day. To me Valentines day is a day that I reflect on love and show appreciation for the love I have in my life.

Some people are lucky enough to find their forever love in their first and go through their entire lives together. Some of us spend time with the ones we think are forever and come out with life lessons and experience. Love is never easy and only you can choose if the love you have is worth fighting for. There is so much more to a relationship than feelings of admiration. The older you get, the more you realize what it is you want and need and what you won't settle for less than.

A solid friendship is so important and I truly believe that the friendship we built created a strong and inevitable love. Though I can say this is not the life I had planned, I wouldn't change it for the world. The truth is, you can't plan life the way you think you can. Sure, we make "plans" for our futures and hope that things pan out the way we envisioned them but that's generally not the case. People grow, change and your wants and needs change too.

Love has never been easy for me and truthfully, I wouldn't wish my experiences in love upon anyone. I hope that every single person reading this takes a minute to evaluate their relationships and really ask themselves if this is the life they want. Love doesn't always mean forever. Love means so many things and you can love someone in so many ways.

I never thought I would allow someone to love me again.

I never thought I'd be capable of letting someone in again.

During the darkest, lowest and hardest days, weeks, months and quite honestly years of my life - this man was there.

He's broken down walls and taught me what true love should feel like.

Though our life together hasn't been easy, I am so proud of where we are now.

Choosing to walk away from love that you know is not right for you is tough.

Believe me, sometimes it take years to see through the bullshit.

Choosing to put yourself first and stop making excuses for all the pain you endure is tough.

I know what it's like to make excuses and allow pain to completely destroy you.

Seeing the bigger picture and closing the door on a chapter that needs to end is tough.

Hurting people is never easy, but when not comes are your own expense - you need to.

The toughest thing of all, is not seeing the love you deserve to feel and no one should settle for anything less than exactly what they want out of love.

I know how hard that can sound, but I promise you it's possible and you will.
